History of the Expo
The Health Freedom Expo was founded by Dr. Wendell Whitman of Warsaw, Indiana.
Dr. Whitman's vision was to create an affordable, high-impact forum to educate
the public on natural health matters. He realized that no one, especially the
government and the medical industry, was looking out for the citizens' health
freedoms. Rather than the well-being of its people, he believed that the
practitioners' main concern was the redistribution of wealth, leaving the people
at the mercy of those who were supposed to be trusted to protect and nourish.
"If a person does not know about the health choices, then there are no health
choices!" Here was a man who saw the big picture and took bold actions
because he saw a great need for improvement.
The Health Freedom Expo originated in Southern California in
2005. As the demand for information grew and the natural health care market
continued to expand, so did the Health Freedom Expo. What started out as
an idea grew to also include Expos in Texas, Virginia and Illinois. Today,
the Expos flourish in Long Beach, California and Chicago, Illinois. In each
market, the Expo's format, focus, and mission have stimulated the marketplace
and enhanced the health freedom movement.
Prominent keynote speakers, over 90 informative lectures and
interactive workshops are featured at the Expos! The exhibit hall, with
more than 200 exhibitors, showcases the finest in health care products
and introduces cutting-edge discoveries in natural health. This market
shows no signs of slowing down. Attendees are looking for the latest
products and they find them at the Health Freedom Expo. They thrive on
the personal interaction and hands on approach of getting answers to their
health issues and concerns.
The HealthKeepers Alliance supports the Health Freedom Expos.
This not-for-profit lobbying organization works year round to protect
consumers' rights, defend practitioners who use natural and nutritional
alternatives, and lobby against laws which remove individuals' freedom to
make informed health care choices.
Since 2008 Julie Whitman-Kline, the daughter of Dr.
Wendell Whitman, has continued his legacy. Julie is rising to the
challenge yearly by carrying on the Health Freedom Expos, and tackling
the many hurdles in the world of health care reform. She endeavors to
grow his vision and expand as we reach people worldwide. She believes
that, together, we can make a difference.
